What #BulldogSTRONG Means to  Armaan : "Being #BulldogSTRONG is having the fortitude and tenacity to face challenges and obstacles, especially when the going is tough. It entails perseverance and never giving up despite obstacles or defeats. #BulldogSTRONG entails having an optimistic outlook, a can-do attitude, and a constant desire to develop personally and professionally. It's about teamwork, encouraging and supporting others, and collaborating to accomplish shared objectives. #BulldogSTRONG ultimately refers to having the fortitude and resilience to handle every situation that comes your way with dignity and a fighting spirit."

What Teachers and Staff Think of Armaan: “I have been teaching Armaan for 2 years and I think that I am finally beginning to figure him out! He is quiet most of the time and does a great job in the math classroom, but there are times when he gets extra quiet. Soon after that he is either asking a well designed question or suggesting a new way to look at a problem. I know that the university setting will be a good place for Armaan. He likes to think outside the box and he will meet others there who do the same. I am excited to see all of the good things that he accomplishes in the next few years! He will carry his #BulldogStrong attitude and talent with him where he goes and make us all proud." Sheryl Cleveland, Mathematics Department Chair and Teacher, Golden Valley High School

"Possibly the thing that I remember best about Armaan is his ability to analyze. He is thoughtful, always observing, and he would rarely comment before looking at all sides of an issue. When a large debate involving several loud participants was taking place, you could always see Armaan just taking it all in. Then he would add one brilliant closing remark that would sum it all up. His analytical skills and his kind, thoughtful approach to both academic and social endeavors will serve him well as he moves on to achieve his goals." Terri Richmond, Retired Social Studies Department Chair and APUSH Teacher, Golden Valley High School

What #BulldogSTRONG Means to Eduardo: "What #BulldogStrong means to me is someone who shows growth, pride, and service both inside and outside of the classroom. Whether it be participating in community service on campus or setting a positive example for others being #BulldogStrong is an important aspect of being a student here at Golden Valley.”

What Teachers and Staff Think of Eduardo: “Eduardo Garcia is the Interact Club Co-President and has been rocking this year with plenty of service events for our students.  He joined the club his Junior year and was inspired to continue to serve in his community.   This year alone, he has done a highway cleanup, pumpkin unloading at Wesley Methodist church and worked closely with autistic children at the most recent LEGO event with Autism society.  He genuinely enjoys serving and really enjoyed working with the youth.  He leads each meeting with his buddy Balpreet, and does an excellent job facilitating ideas and plans for the club.  He shared he is excited to go to college and find ways to continue to serve his community.  The club's motto is service above self, and it’s very evident Eduardo is accomplishing that.  Eduardo represents the Interact club well, a job well done!” Jennifer Yamauchi, Science Department Chair and Interact Club Adviser, Golden Valley High School

“Eduardo Garcia is a four-year varsity starter on the Golden Valley Tennis team.  A person can go a lifetime and never meet a person who exhibits integrity, ease of leadership, exemplary behavior, steady kindness, joy at being excellent, scholastic achievement, care and respect for others, as does Eduardo Garcia. Eduardo has taught me, reminded me, of the values of good manners, intelligence under pressure, how to learn, and being a winner.  Wow -- an astounding and special individual. #BulldogSTRONG is just a beginning.” Fred Kumpel, Head Tennis Coach, Golden Valley High School

What #BulldogSTRONG Means to David: "For me #BulldogStrong is doing the right things, being respectful to others, and generally being a good student to make your school proud, representing them in a positive manner. ”

What Teachers and Staff Think of David: “David, is one of the most courteous, intelligent and helpful students I have had the privilege to have in our Folklorico group. David has so many talents, but what makes him extra special is his big and kind heart. David has the ability to make a group of new dancers become friends in one day just by socializing with them and making them feel comfortable as a group. I know David will accomplish the many goals he has set in life.” Gaby Ruvalcaba, Library Technician and Folklorico Coach, Golden Valley High School

“David Perez is a gem of a person! He radiates enthusiasm and positivity and always has a smile on his face. David values his education, takes pride in his work, pays attention to detail, and gives his best effort no matter how small the assignment is. As a student in AP Language and Composition last year, he enthusiastically participated in class, offering his thoughts and insights during discussions. David set goals for his growth as a writer and worked hard to develop his writing skill throughout the year. Truly, he is a true role model for others and exhibits what it means to be #BulldogSTRONG always!” Karen Bastain, AP English Language Composition Teacher, Golden Valley High School

What #BulldogSTRONG Means to Balpreet: "#BulldogSTRONG means that you're doing something to the best of your ability. It means that you succeed and you uplift others to succeed also. It means to be involved in your interests and communities while having fun at the same time.”

What Teachers and Staff Think of Balpreet: “Balpreet Randhawa is an outstanding young man and a true exemplar of what it means to be #BulldogSTRONG. As a learner he demonstrates Growth by giving his best effort to master the content in his courses and he has proven to be a hungry learner who wants to know more and learn beyond the classroom. Furthermore, Balpreet takes tremendous Pride in being a Bulldog supporting his peers in athletics, performing arts, and through his participation in countless activities and clubs. Balpreet also demonstrates a spirit for Service on campus and throughout our community as one of the leaders of Interact he has been a part of many community cleanups and activities and through his temple he has been active in the Sikh community as well. His commitment to being an active contributor in the classroom, in the community, and around our campus is why I recognized him in We the People with the Dr. Jack Brigham Civic Virtue Learning Award.” John Hansen, Government/Economics Teacher and We The People Coach, Golden Valley High School

“Balpreet is an extremely hard worker who needs more recognition for his success. Currently, he has a 4.5 grade point average. While maintaining this high grade point average, he manages the Interact Club, is a member of We the People, takes a health explorer class, works a job, and helps manage a business. In addition, he helped set up the Golden Valley Blood drive. As a student in my class, he participates in the class discussions daily. He gives insightful responses, and he presents new ideas that other students have not thought about. Golden Valley is lucky to have him, and I am lucky to have such an inquisitive and insightful student in my class. I can't wait to see how he is going to change the world. I am glad that he is getting recognized for all of his hard work. Way to be #BulldogStrong!” Rebecca Bledsoe-Santaella, English Teacher, Golden Valley High School

What #BulldogSTRONG Means to Jonathan: "Being #BulldogStrong means sacrificing your time for others' needs and putting effort into making each of your experiences count for something greater beyond yourself."

What Teachers and Staff Think of Jonathan: "I have had the good fortune to teach Jonathan for two years. He is a standout in class, gets along well with others, and has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers. Jonathan is well on his way to becoming whatever he desires. Gracias, Jonathan y buena suerte en todo. ¡El tiempo es fugaz!" Gabriel Flores, AP Spanish Language and Literature Teacher, Golden Valley High School

"I am thrilled to shine the spotlight on Jonathan, a remarkable engineering student who has recently been awarded the prestigious GATES Scholarship. JZ has always had a passion for engineering and has consistently demonstrated his exceptional skills and talents throughout his academic journey. He has shown a remarkable ability to solve complex problems and think critically. JZ's recent achievement of being awarded the GATES Scholarship is a testament to his exceptional talent and hard work. This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to only a select few students each year and provides full tuition coverage for undergraduate studies. I am proud to have JZ in my classes; he is a wonderful student." Judiah Hopkins, Project Lead the Way/Engineering Teacher and eSports Coach, Golden Valley High School

What #BulldogSTRONG Means to Manit: "#BulldogSTRONG means trying your hardest and giving your best effort in everything you do. It also means helping out and being kind to everyone on campus. Being of service to the community and one’s peers is part of being #BulldogSTRONG."

What Teachers and Staff Think of Manit: "Manit Bains is an outstanding young woman with a bright future ahead of her, and she is the epitome of a student who every day shows Growth, Pride, and Service. In class, she demonstrates Growth by always giving 100% on all her coursework and by challenging herself to make improvements to get 100%. Furthermore, Manit takes tremendous Pride in representing Golden Valley by making positive contributions to campus programs like We the People and by making good choices. Additionally, Manit shines in the field of Serving her community through helping in Interact Club Community events and serving her Gurdwara as well. Manit is a remarkable exemplar of being #BulldogSTRONG, and being her teacher has been a sincere honor." John Hansen, Government/Economics Teacher and We The People Coach, Golden Valley High School

"Manit is an incredibly hardworking student. She is dedicated to her academics and fastidious in her achievement. She will stop at nothing to get what she wants, but this determination is a quiet one. I'm so proud of her progress this year. She shows great grit, confidence, and compassion in all she does - a challenging combination. I feel honored to have taught her this year, and I can't wait to see all that she accomplishes in her future. Students like her are far and few between, and she will be missed."
