THE SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AT GOLDEN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
 
Golden Valley High School Special Education Department is responsible for ensuring high quality special education programs and services at our comprehensive high school to promote the educational success of students with disabilities. There is a commitment to excellence and a belief that all students can learn and become responsible members of our community.
 
The purpose of our division is to provide quality instruction for the students with special needs. This will be accomplished by using the most modern curriculum available. We will focus on student advocacy, keep abreast of current trends, adhere to legal mandates, provide a support system for each other, and be accountable for successful completion of our mission.
 
Programs at GVHS:

Resource Specialist Program
Program for learning disabled students in reading, math and study skills while mainstreamed in general courses.

Moderate/Severe Class
Functional curriculum which may include community access, life skills, vocational education, daily living skills and recreation.
