Get involved with our clubs on campus!
Golden Valley has over 40 clubs on campus ranging from Astronomy Club, Culture Shock Club, and ESports. We encourage all students to be #BulldogSTRONG by joining a club today!!! Take PRIDE in being a Bulldog that is involved. Take a look below at the clubs that are offered. If you would like to start a new club on campus, please see Mrs. Park in the Activities Office today.

Baseball 409 Robert Haskell/Bryn Bruno Baseball Field 1st of the month/as needed To provide a safe place for Golden Valley students to learn the love of Baseball.
Basketball - Boys 413 Robert Haskell/Jayson Heard Gym Mondays after school during season To provide a safe place for Golden Valley students to learn the love of Basketball.
Basketball - Girls 414 Danielle Madrid Gym As needed The purpose of the Girls Basketball Club is to develop players' basketball skills, promote sportsmanship/teamwork, foster a safe positive environment for growth and competition; ultimately instilling valuable life lessons like discipline and leadership alongside athletic development.
Balet Folklorico Valle Dorado 1030 Gaby Ruvalcaba 200 Mondays at 2:45pm The organization shall have as its purpose, to fundraise for the Folklorico group dancing attires, and also to learn cultural history through different dances. Students will donate time to local community service/outreach events directly approved by the Student Council, the school principal, and the Governing Board of the Kern High School District.
Bible Club 493 John Hansen/Terry Tripp/Wade Branch/Melissa Waldrop 301 Wednesdays at lunch Helping students spiritually connect through the Bible and develop Christian Fellowship with one another.
Black Student Union (BSU) 499 Will Cross 1202 Thursdays at lucnh The Black Student Union (BSU) exists to promote cultural awareness, unity, and empowerment among Black students, while fostering understanding and respect within the broader school community. Our purpose is to provide a safe and supportive space where members can share experiences, celebrate heritage, and engage in meaningful dialogue. Through educational programs, community service, cultural events, and advocacy, we aim to uplift the voices of Black students, address issues that affect our communities, and encourage academic and personal growth. BSU is committed to building bridges across cultures, promoting equity and inclusion, and inspiring leadership that extends beyond our school walls.
Bulldog Theatre Company 473 Sheila McClure 304 Tuesdays at lunch & 7th period The Bulldog Theatre Company strives to tell stories and educate through theatre in order to bring about positive change in our community, and to inspire creativity and self-expression—free of judgment in a safe environment.

Club SEA 559 Wayne Peacock 1603 Wednesdays after school At Club S.E.A, we're all about exploring the world around us - from our local community to the great outdoors. Through service (S), exploration (E), and adventure (A), we equip students with the skills, knowledge, and passion to make a positive impact.

Creative Writing Club 1179 Cory Olague 906 Wednesdays 3:35pm-4:35pm The Creative Writing Club is focused around creating and nurturing student writers at Golden Valley High School with the goal of improving their own works and writing process. Our efforts will focus around creating a collaborative environment where writers feel safe and supported and their efforts are celebrated and appreciated. By the end of the year, we hope to create a Student Writer’s Anthology with the collected works from authors on our campus both within and without our club.

Culture Shock Club 1057 Monica Beavers 806 Lunch every other Thursday The purpose of Culture Shock Club is to promote respect for all people while learning about each other, our countries, cultures, and languages. We aim to support one another both academically and socially.
Drumline 1071 Anthony Hicks 340 Thursdays at 3:45pm Our purpose - To build a story through rhythms and movements that displays the discipline of students and their passions to drum with those who grown to appreciate the hidden world of percussion through its loudest and quietest moments.
Dungeons & Dragons 453 Nadia Wehbe 904 Wednesdays at 3:35-4:15pm To include and engage a variety of students in creating fresh, invigorating storyscapes that foster public speaking, comraderie, and confidence in speech.
ESports   Judiah Hopkins 1715 Mondays & Tuesdays after school Video Game Club that competes in KSEL with different seasons of games.
FFA 517 Cassandra Soberano/Katy Nieblas/Brian Watts 1701/1406 2nd Wednesday of every month, during lunch To educate all students about the importance of agriculture, so they will have an interest in agriculture, now and in the future.To get all members involved in our FFA organization, for continued chapter success and growth this year and in the future.To bring agriculture education awareness to our school and community.To enhance the relationship between our organization and the community by participating in community events.To encourage members to succeed not only at the chapter level but to strive for success beyond their own expectations.To make 2025-2026 a year of accomplishments and improvements. To always have fun in what we are doing and enjoy our moments of success.
Film & Media Club   Keith Fingers 1006 N/A The purpose of this club is to give students the opportunity to explore film and media beyond the 57 minutes we have in class. It will provide a space for students to pursue their passions through hands-on experience in editing, camera operation, screenwriting, and more. The club will also foster a supportive environment where students can share ideas, practice industry-standard techniques, and produce content that reflects our school’s growth, pride, and service.

Interact 535 Jennifer Yamauchi 1605 Tuesdays during lunch or after school The purpose of Interact is to provide opportunity for young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding.
International Thespian Society 569 Sheila McClure/Monica Beavers 304 Tuesdays at lunch & 7th period International Thespian Society (ITS), an honorary organization that has inducted more than 2.2 million theatre students since its founding in 1929. ITS is operated by Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), a national nonprofit organization with approximately 100,000 students and professional members. The mission is shaping lives through theatre education by: honoring student achievement in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience and influencing public opinion that theatre education is essential and builds life skills. GVHS ITS Troupe 6881 strives to maintain excellence in Theatre, Academics, and Community Service.
Library Club   Rupsy Bajwa/Manuel Sanchez Library/201 Wednesdays @3:30pm-4:30pm The club’s mission is to promote reading in our community through free little libraries, presentations, meetings and participating in related events or activities.
The Library Club will do the following:
1. Encourage GVHS students to read.
2. Set up little free libraries in the community.
3. Organize Author Visit.
4. Raise funds through fundraising events.
L.I.S.T.O.S 641 Marshall Garcia/Ramon Cardenas/Emmanuel Gomez/Jose Soleranzo P10 Every other Wednesday Through mentoring, community involvement, and the support of inspirational Latino leaders in the Kern County community, the young Latinos in the KHSD will graduate with the academic, social, and leadership skills that will prepare them to thrive in their postsecondary pursuits and in life.
Mariachi Club 1352 Giovanna Sarratt 328 Last Friday of every month This organization shall have as its purpose, to promote and sustain multiculturalism through the style of mariachi music with activities on, and off, campus as directly approved by the Student Council and indirectly by the school principal and the governing board of Kern High School District.
Math Club   Luis Jauregui 1206 Thursdays during lunch The purpose of the GV Math Club is to foster a supportive and engaging environment where students can deepen their appreciation and understanding of mathematics. We aim to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration by exploring mathematical concepts beyond the classroom curriculum. Through activities such as problem-solving sessions, math games, competitions, guest speakers, and peer tutoring, the Math Club seeks to:
Encourage curiosity and creativity in approaching mathematical challenges.
Support students in developing confidence and persistence in problem-solving.
Build a community where members can collaborate, share ideas, and inspire one another.
Provide opportunities to participate in local, regional, and national mathematics contests.
Highlight the connections between mathematics and real-world applications, careers, and other fields of study.
Ultimately, the GV Math Club strives to create a welcoming space where all students, regardless of skill level, can grow in their mathematical journey, challenge themselves, and discover the joy and beauty of mathematics.

Project BEST 551 Will Cross 1202 Wednesdays at lunch Project BEST selects young African-American male students based on their academic success. Students must be enrolled in A-G college preparatory coursework (or advanced placement).During their high school years, the BEST Advisor(s) monitor(s) Project BEST students and provides mentorship and rewards.

Track 456 Will Cross 1202 Everyday in spring The purpose of the Track Club is to promote athletic excellence, personal growth, and teamwork through the sport of track and field. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where athletes of all skill levels can challenge themselves, develop discipline, and achieve their personal and team goals. Through regular training, competition, and community engagement, we aim to inspire a lifelong love for fitness, sportsmanship, and perseverance both on and off the track.
THRIVE 622 Melissa Waldrop 1404 Tuesdays at lunch Entirely created, organized, and facilitated by students at Golden Valley High School, THRIVE is a premiere support group that operates in providing assistance in school work, building powerful bonds, and supporting the mental health and emotional needs of their peers.
