Visual & Performing Arts

  1. The Visual & Performing Arts Department promotes cultural awareness and celebrates diversity through creativity, performance, and self-expression.
  2. Students are encouraged to follow a four-year pathway in each discipline, allowing them to grow their skills over time while preparing for college, careers, and life beyond high school.
  3. VAPA provides a space where students become confident, well-rounded individuals by developing creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking skills through the arts.

Whether you’re singing on stage, designing artwork, filming videos, or performing at games and events, VAPA gives students the freedom to explore their creativity and find their voice. Students can stay in one program all four years or explore multiple VAPA disciplines, there’s no one right path, just your path.

Dual & Concurrent Enrollment (College Credit Opportunities)

Golden Valley High School offers Dual Enrollment and Concurrent Enrollment options that allow students to earn college credit while still in high school.

Through these options, students may be able to:
  • Take one Visual or Performing Arts class every year
  • Enroll in two Fine Arts electives at the same time
  • Focus more heavily on a specific art pathway while staying on track for graduation
  • Explore college level coursework connected to the arts
