For the grit, humility, and PRIDE he has in being a wrestler and student at Golden Valley High School and in the selfless SERVICE he demonstrates in  helping his family, Nestor Montelongo is #BulldogSTRONG.

For her imagination, creativity, and passion for sketch work infused with hip hop themes and in her desire to SERVE others with compassion and empathy as ASB Historian, Natily Guebara is #BulldogSTRONG.

As we conclude celebrating Black History Month and recognizing our wonderfully diverse employees, we thought it would be fitting to spotlight recently retired chemistry teacher and Project BEST adviser, Dr. Okon Udo. Dr. Udo has meant so much to Golden Valley High School over the years as he impacted the lives of the students that entered his classroom and through Project BEST and did so with kindness and love. We can’t also forget his vocal talents when he would sing “Happy Birthday” to all of his students. Dr. Udo will forever be #BulldogSTRONG!

For the seventeenth day of Black History Month, we will be presenting our third video created by GVHS Sophomore Alejandro Hernandez. Alejandro does a great job capturing the many pioneers and heroes of Black History Month.

The thirteenth staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is Bus Driver and Food Services worker extraordinaire, Patricia Pollard! Ms. Pollard humbly and graciously works behind the scenes in the cafeteria and by driving a bus to serve students at GVHS. Ms. Pollard is #BulldogSTRONG!

The twelfth staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is our Moderate to Severe Instructional Aid, Felicia Oliver! Ms. Oliver always maintains a positive attitude and is the ultimate to team player! Ms. Oliver is #BulldogSTRONG.

The eleventh staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is our amazing Health Care Specialist, Bridgette DeLouth-Jones! Ms. DeLouth-Jones is always positive, upbeat, and truly cares about providing support and care to ALL students at GVHS! Ms. DeLouth-Jones is #BulldogSTRONG!

For the genuine appreciation, PRIDE, and commitment he has for the Bulldog Theatre Company at Golden Valley High School and in his kind, humble, and positive demeanor, Elijah Moore is #BulldogSTRONG.

The tenth staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is our Moderate Severe Instructional Aid, Latonia Newman-Pollard! Ms. Newman-Pollard is committed to helping some of our neediest students succeed as she fosters positive relationships and connections with them so that they can be #BulldogSTRONG! Ms. Newman-Pollard is #BulldogSTRONG!

For the twelfth day of Black History Month at GVHS, we will be presenting our second video created by GVHS Freshman Class President and member of our ASB Student Leadership Class and Project BEST, D'Anthony Wilson. D'Anthony represents GVHS the right way and is #BulldogSTRONG!
