For the deep love he has for his late father, his desire to keep his memory alive through playing basketball, and in the gracious attitude he has towards the staff and coaches of GVHS, Markell Brooks is #BulldogSTRONG.

The fourth staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is one of our original Golden Valley High School staff members, Anna Butler-Aguilar! Always upbeat and willing to help our neediest students in the Moderate/Severe Classroom, Anna is the epitome of being #BulldogSTRONG!

For the fourth day of Black History Month, we will be presenting our first video created by GVHS Senior and member of our ASB Student Leadership Class, Jenika Colin. Jenika did a fantastic job in capturing some of the key figures and moments in Black History. Jenika is #BulldogSTRONG!

The third staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is our reliable and genuinely respectful Security Guard, Darrell Teague! Darrell has committed the last few years of his life to serving the students at GVHS as a Mod/Severe Instructional Aid, Security Guard, and Football Coach. Darrell cares about students and is #BulldgoSTRONG!

The second staff member to be recognized for Black History Month is our happy and eternally optimistic Independent Studies Clerical Technician, Janet Washington! Janet does a great job working with our students and families to help them become #BulldogSTRONG!

Like we did for Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be honoring our staff of African American heritage during Black History Month. The first staff member to recognize is our awesome and amazing duplicating clerk Jamila Strong! Whether it’s making copies or answering phone calls at the switchboard, Jamila is #BulldogSTRONG!

For her desire to become a more engaged and educated citizen as a member of the We The People team and in her pursuit of academic excellence through the Project Lead The Way program, Natalie Bueno is #BulldogSTRONG.

For the tremendous GROWTH he has shown at GVHS, the PRIDE he has in being a Bulldog wrestler, and in his commitment to the selfless SERVICE of his teammates, Javier Williams is #BulldogSTRONG.

For her perpetual smile and optimism as a Cheerleader and in her benevolence and selfless approach to leadership in ASB and School Site Council, Adriana Gutierrez is #BulldogSTRONG.

For his talents and leadership as a gifted trumpet player in the Bulldog Brigade, bass drum player in GVHS Drumline, and in the genuine appreciation he has for the staff that have influenced his musical GROWTH at GVHS, Noah Simpkins is #BulldogSTRONG.
